I think this is a really beautiful song. I can't take much of the credit for it. I had the title in mind since around 2000. I was studying postmodernism at the Open University and was relating my learnings of the subject, to the recent phenomenon of online dating.

I had a tune in mind, so I hummed it to Ian and he came out with this. I had recently purchased an acoustic guitar, so this is very acoustic and pastoral. In the end, the tune didn't really fit the lyric, so this has been left as a stand alone instrumental. I had a mad ambition at the time to write a rock opera on the subject of on line dating. With my work rate that would have taken around 1000 years! I still have in mind to write "looking for a home in a post modern world", the non instrumental. I think there are some interesting things to say about how the internet has changed the terms of reference in the age old battle of the sexes. This song isn't it, but I like it all the same.

Writing Credits
I only had a very vague idea of the original riff, so the vast bulk of the writing credit would be Ian's.
Instrumentation
Ian played an acoustic guitar that was double tracked. I played electric guitar and bass guitar. For anyone interested (and who would be), both these instruments were the ones that Ian and I played at the Surgical War's last gig in October 1986.
