When I was barely two and a half years old, my Gran ran a shop and my Auntie worked in it. For some reason or other, there was a copy of the book of Ferdiand the Bull in the shop. At that age, it became my favourite book. I have no idea why, but I really identified with the bull who didn't want to fight in the bullring and would much rather sit under the cork tree all day. So I used the story as a metaphor for some of the subsequent aspects of my life, good and bad. I think I'm trying to say here is that, psychologically, I may have spent a little more time under my tree as I would have liked. Although, avoiding a certain amount of bullfighting is always good.

Lyric

Its a new day
Its a new day
what will he do
what will he do

possibilities endless
possibilities endless
opportunities
opportunities

He's a nice guy
he's a nice guy
what will he say

ch -

An Ferdinand sits under his tree
He won't fight in the ring today
Just sits there thinking, got nothing to say
I wonder if Ferdand is me?

He's done it again
he's done it again

blown it again
blown it again

opportunities missed
opportunities missed

Is it better this way
is it better this way

under the tree
under the tree

it looks good to he here
it looks good to me here

here's where I'll stay
here's where I'll stay
